I'm a little bit confused about the book Maximum Ride: School's out- Forever...?

Could you all answer a few questions for me? I was wondering if the labcoat guys were good or bad? (jeb) and what bout the erasers. It confuses me that Max says she wants to save the world, and yet the lab coats seem to want her to do this, and she is resentful to them and doesnt do as they ask.
